Samsung working on a Tizen smartphone for 2013

Samsung has realized the future in Tizen, a new open OS that will be the game changer in the mobile industry. So a serious commitment will be there on Samsung's part to release a new smartphones next year  based on Tizen.

Samsung is working with DoCoMo,  Japanese mobile operator  to release Tizen Os phones. These phones are likely to released in Japan and other countries at the same time. The first glimpse of the phone could come in  Mobile World Congress event in February- a trade show focused on mobiles.Market launch dates are less clear.

It is seen as loyalty shift from Android based Os to Tizen. The reason behind this move is as Android is not entirely open sourced and the platform remains an investment for Google. Whereas the Tizen is  entirely open sourced and based on open standards- which will be customizable for operator and manufacturer’s services. Other reasons are that  Android (and Open Handset Alliance, OHA) partner Acer cancelled a smartphone launch in China after being pressurized by Google stating it breached its regulations.
So no manufacturer wants restrictions in terms of development of  new gadgets.

Since Tizen is entirely open sourced and based on open standards, there are no such problems. This Tizen Os is not  limited to smartphones and the system ,it can be used for tablets, smart TVs and more.
